Company: Bristol-Myers Squibb
Job title: Head Analytics Innovation, Oncology Translational Bioinformatics
Alice M Walsh, PhD leads the Analytics Innovation team in Oncology Translational Bioinformatics at Bristol-Myers Squibb. Her experience working with biomarker and drug development teams has shaped her belief that innovation originates from focusing on solving important challenges – and not from rushing to apply the latest technology or algorithm. Since joining Bristol-Myers Squibb in 2017, she has concentrated on integrating data and evaluating methods to answer questions across the oncology pipeline. The Analytics Innovation team has developed pan-tumor and cross-study analysis of genomic datasets from BMS clinical studies and are currently working to complement BMS data with real-world datasets. Alice previously worked at Janssen where she led the development of systems biology approaches for biomarkers and target discovery in rheumatoid arthritis. Alice received her PhD in Bioengineering from the University of Pennsylvania and bachelor’s degree in Biological Engineering from MIT.
